Rippling Out
It started as a droplet from the home schooling orbits. Chantal had found out about farm where they offered activities for kids ranging from horse rides and nature hikes, to soap making and picking roses. The Provencal styled Langkloof Roses is a picturesque moment captured in time, cascading down a kloof towards the historic town of Wellington.
The droplet became a ripple that extended out to Cape Town and we held our first Missions Auction there last year. We all loved the venue and the family and staff managing the venue. There was a divine connection. When two circling ripples interact there is constructive interference and an instantaneous doubling of amplitude and we realized that there was more to explore.
When we were invited to participate in their recent festival that incorporated several ministries around the theme of being the light for Jesus, we decided to ripple out as a church. We held a blues concert with an art auction for missions. Immanuel Pelser had his debut performance releasing his first album "Train's Here" available from Pelser Media's online store: https://pelsermedia.com/product/trainshere/
Our artistic hosts' children were very hospitable taking children for horse rides and sharing their art and music with us during the event. The eldest daughter is studying perfumery and gave a wonderful description about the process. We want to commission her to create a celebratory Harvester fragrance for us soon!
Then I introduced them to the Harvester family who like to dance, laugh and sing together in praise to the Lord Jesus Christ wherever we are, whether in the winelands of Stellenbosch, or the crisp fresh air of the West Coast. Our events orbit set up a church meeting on Sunday morning at the wedding venue that had a fire place - which happened to keep our drummer nice and toasty during the All Nations Worship Session led by Chantal and our All Nations Worship Team. We circled through Cuban, Indian and even Cape Ghoema genres scanning the Spirit together in prophetic worship.
During the missions auction, long term missionary and apostle Andre Pelser, sang about it being darkest before the dawn. It had poured with rain on the Saturday but that did not deter the ground swell of support for a worthy cause of reaching out to Africa later in the week - to Kenya and Uganda. When dawn came the sun broke through and lit up a story book scene. Seeing people come to church in a beautiful venue for a Sunday is inspiring us to finish our church building in Burgundy Estate. We have just received glorious news of a new donation that will help us to the final push for occupancy as a church. This next phase towards completion is happening fourteen years after we initially bought the land. Jacob had to work the same time for his betrothed and he became a mighty nation of Israel. While we were waiting, we have also rippled out into the world and registered Harvester in many nations, a true global harvest of churches, for which we can only thank and glorify God.
The waves of creativity and divine relationships that will come from this peaceful family weekend include: A ladies retreat in October, more art, Harvester fragrances, workshops and seminars and most importantly, new friendships in Christ.
