Ripple Effect of a Church building
It was amazing to learn of the impact of the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Mont Martre,
Paris, France. The Church of the Sacred Heart is one of my favourite sights to visit in
the celebrated city of love.
I once heard these words in my heart which I believe was from God:
“You will build many churches for me.” At the Sacré-Cœur.
Mont Martre, Paris, Nov. 2017.
10 Ripple Effects from the building of the Sacred Heart Basilica Church in Paris, France.
1. Hope: The church of the Sacred heart
of Christ Basilica was built because the French had just lost a war and the
builder wanted to give his people hope again. The French army was defeated by
the Prussians army in 1870. Alexandre Legentil, a believer, wanted to relieve
the French people from the pain and the humiliation it went through. He wanted
the French people to feel better and to rise again, giving them a new basilica.
The purpose of the church was to protect the French, but also for them to be
forgiven for all their sins since the French Revolution. Legentil managed to get
a law from the National Assembly declaring that the construction of the
Sacre-Coeur was of public interest. (Article by Anna, discoverwalks.com)
2. Provision: The Parisians funded the building themselves with generous donations
throughout the building period.
3. Endurance: It took 39 years to finish. Work
started in 1875 It was completed in 1914
4. Strength: It was built with special white stones that releases calcite when
it rains to keep it water resistant and strong!
5. Sound: The bell of the church weighs 19 tons! It's sound rings out
the message of hope and calls people to attend mass.
6. Message: The Church is named after Jesus’ heart and is one of the few
Basilicas that is named after our Lord and Saviour.
7. Reach: The Church receives ten million visitors annually. The Notre Dame,
by comparison, receives 13 million visitors per year.
8. Creativity: The Mosaic of Christ in all his glory is one of the largest of its
kind and its focal point of the Basilica. The Apse mosaic was inaugurated into
the church in 1923 and is estimated to span 475 square meters. The creators of
this work were Luc-Olivier Merson, H. M. Magne and R. Martin.
9. Elevation: It is one of the highest points of the city and is known to be
one of the most peaceful places to visit.
10. Prayer: There is an all-night prayer option for visitors, and they are given
accommodation at reasonable rates with a continental breakfast in the morning.
The ripple effect of our efforts to rise and build:
God told me clearly to first build a wall and then build the temple.
We secured the perimeter fencing around the church building at Burgundy Estate.
It stopped the vandalizing of the church building estate.
In 2021, when we visited the Gauteng Region in May, God clearly commanded me to:
“Rise and build.”
It has spurred us on as a church and a move to rise and build in every
category of ministry.
This morning, a revelation came to me: “The building is your servant.”
Let it work for you! You do not work for the building. It has to
serve the purpose you set for it. It has to house the anointing that I have
given you.
It will be a place where people can be restored and lives set in
order, set in their right position to fulfil their calling and be sent off on a
mission for their life.”
"It will broadcast and make your sound clearly in the
earth and it will be a place of learning." "People will come and pray and
receive visions and drams just by visiting the building and the world will open
its door for you because of the frequency that is being emitted from a building
in Cape Town, South Africa.
It is of course, more than a building: "The Church building is a portal of grace
for the nations, because you have consecrated your lives for Me and have decided
to honour me in My Church and build a house for My glory, I will also honour you
and give you the nations as an inheritance. You have scattered abroad, and I will
bring the increase says the Lord of hosts."
We can only say: "Thank you, Jesus for the opportunity to build a church!"
